Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Lalibela and Afternoon Church Tour
We meet you early morning at your hotel for the transfer to the airport. A short flight takes us to Lalibela, followed by a 45-minute drive to the town. After checking in and enjoying lunch, our local guide will lead the exploration of the first group of rock-hewn churches, marveling at the architecture and icon paintings of these 800-year-old structures.
Day 2: Lalibela and Surrounding Monasteries
On our second day, we visit the remaining churches in the village, including the iconic cross-shaped Bete Giyorgis. In the afternoon, you have options to customize your trip: visit the beautiful Yemrehanna Kristos church situated in a cave or take a mule hike to the high-altitude Asheton Maryam monastery. If your visit falls on a Saturday, you can also explore the weekly town market.
Day 3: Return to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, the transfer will take you back to the airport for your flight to Addis Ababa. Depending on the flight schedule, you will arrive in the late morning or early afternoon, where a transfer will be waiting to bring you back to your hotel.
