Travel Itinerary
Full Day: Monasteries and Gorges
We will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast for an early departure (around 07:30) and head north out of Addis Ababa. We pass through the Entoto Hills, which offer stunning views of the capital, stopping to enjoy the landscape and meet local people. After a two-hour drive, we arrive at Debre Libanos where we visit the church and the recently opened museum. A short, steep path leads us to the cave where Saint Tekle Haymanot is said to have prayed. We enjoy a late lunch with breathtaking views over the Jemma River Gorge. After lunch, we take a short walk to the historic bridge (often called the Portuguese Bridge or Ras Darge’s Bridge) before heading back to Addis Ababa for an 18:00 drop-off.
