Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Addis Ababa to Awash National Park
Depart Addis Ababa for Awash National Park. In the afternoon, explore the park’s diverse wildlife, including Beisa oryx, Soemmerring’s gazelle, and various baboon species. The park is a haven for birdwatchers, with over 460 recorded species.
Day 2: Awash National Park to Harar
Enjoy an early morning game drive for the best chance to see mammals. Afterward, continue eastward through the scenic Chercher Mountains to Harar. Upon arrival, take a guided walk through the old town to admire the ancient city walls and the colorful Islamic market.
Day 3: Full Day Sightseeing in Harar
Spend the day visiting the Abdela Sherif Harari City Museum, housed in the former palace of Ras Mekonnen, and the Arthur Rimbaud Museum. View ancient manuscripts, Harari coins, and a collection of rare photographs showing the city as it was around 1900.
Day 4: Harar to Addis Ababa
Begin the full-day return journey from Harar back to Addis Ababa, taking in the changing landscapes of the eastern highlands as the trip concludes.
